Patrissia Cuberos started her career as a singing soloist with the Colombian National Opera Company.
As an actress, she played the leading part on the Colombian film “ El Hombre de Acero ” for Colombian film company, Focine.
She
came to England with a British Council Scholarship to do postgraduate
studies at the Trinity College of Music in London. From being a baroque
and opera soloist, Patricia moved into the study and research of
contemporary and folk styles from different traditions after joining
Peters Cowdrey's World Music Group Orbestra in 1990.
Patrissia
became the Manager and Artistic Director of Orbestra Music in 2001.
Following Orbestra's footsteps she has created new projects that not
only include music and different Art forms from different cultures but
also other issues relevant to society in our times.
The two Eco-operas in 2001 and 2003, an
Educational and Performance project, brought together all Art forms
except film, all members of the community from small children to third
age citizens and from all social backgrounds into a single project
highlighting one of the biggest issues of our time: Environmental
damage and our individual responsibility in those issues.
Songthreads ,
a project combining again education and performance, traveled through
all centuries and many vocal traditions to establish the thread of
music and song than joins the hearts of humanity without any respect
for political and geographical limits, war or economical interests.
Malena: The Forgotten Lover is her first project
combining most of her big passions: Performing as a singer, dancer,
actress, writer and Artistic Director combined with her interest in
Love relationships.
